Leporello Books

Series of four accordion- style artist books.

My research led me to Feisal Alkazi's "Srinagar: An Architectural Legacy". In this book, Alkazi charts six walking routes through Srinagar, exploring the city's rich architectural, cultural, and historical heritage. These walks inspired the creation of this series of leporello books.

In these works, I weave together elements from Srinagar's past with observations from contemporary life. Architectural facades, shopping malls, the hoisting of the Indian flag, and online delivery services are layered into the imagery, creating a dialogue between history and the rapidly changing realities of the present. Through these juxtapositions, the works reflect the evolving urban landscape and lived experiences of the city.
